The Lost World is a subfloor in The Mines, which is accessible via door 160. In order to enter the subfloor, the player needs to get a pair of shears and a key card. The keycard will always be present at Jeff’s Shop for 350 gold and is rarely found in lockers and toolboxes (It is much more common from opening locked toolboxes, locked lockers, and vine-covered chests. Then they will go to door 161 which is a giant maze-like sewer area with a generator in it. Once you implemented all the fuses in 161 you will enter a small tunnel that leads to a fully vegetated area with mushrooms and sunflowers. They must use the shears to cut down the vines that are blocking the door, and use the keycard to swipe on the scanner of the door. Once you do that, you will gain full access to the subfloor.
At the starting section of the lost world, they will enter a temple-like location with a bridge next to two big waterfalls with vines and mushrooms. They will also receive camera from an ancient stone stool with two torches next to it. The camera is used to flash entities to prevent them from attacking you. Some entities are immune to flashing and some will aggressively attack you if you flash at them.
After crossing the bridge, there is a bright light that’ll eventually lead the Lost World. A huge underground rainforest-like area with huge dripstones, giant mushrooms (in which some of them pose as trees), giant waterfalls, and massive amounts of rainforest-like vegetation all over the place.
There are also specific areas in the Lost World including Bog Areas, which are swampy and foggy like areas resided by some entities like Snappers and Slenders; Bioluminescent Areas which are caverns with loads of glowing vegetation. Also home to a variety of entities such as Crawls, Mimics, Caricatures, Eyebats, and Ravagers; Volcanic Areas, which are late game areas that are filled with lava ponds and igneous caves that are inhabited by Scorches and Demons.
There is also a total of 50 entities exclusive to the subfloor. The entities are Glares, Glows, Gloomrats, Eyebats, Grabs, Mimics, Caricatures, Rolls, Crawls, Scorches, Skinrunners, Predators, Wanders, Snappers, Spitters, Biters, Spikebacks, Lights, Sundews, Hounds, Scamper, Ravagers, Slenders, Watch, Clawman, Fly, Demons, Souls, Lurk, The Eyeballs, Smile, Hiss, Stalk, Shy, Wail, Skulks, Glassflies, Chargers, Feathersprints, Tramplers, Pace, Vibrate, Perish, Hold, Gaze, Irritate, Giganto, Flora, Rupert, and Cosmo.
I know there is way too many entities from my subfloor idea and many of you will criticize. But hey, at least I put a lot of effort into it and most of the entities will be easy to deal with.
More about the subfloor and its entity mechanics will be posted soon. :)
