I made a picture of all of the major villains that will appear in Inspire: Guardians of Light. I’ve also come up with the back-stories of how these characters meet. Some of the characters come from other fan games and their past is acknowledged. Here’s a little history on the villains of Inspire: GOL.
Sparta (Center Left) - The Dark Lord Sparta is the main antagonist of the game. He has lead a conquest of the land of Inspire hundreds of times over, always ending up victorious in the end. This is his latest attempt at conquering Inspire, but things may be difficult. Aside from the appearance of Talia (a Guardian made in one of the previous versions of Inspire that he is afraid of), a mysterious girl has been spotted traveling with The Creator. If the girl is who Sparta fears it is, it could either help him conquer the world once again or bring his plans to ruin.
Vespa (Center Right) - Vespa is a known acquaintance with the villain of the first game, the Dark Lady (aka Jornada Del Muerto). After Sparta finds out about the mysterious girl the Dark Lady sends Vespa to assist Sparta and investigate whether or not the girl is who they all believe she is. Like Sparta, Vespa will do anything for her lady, having given Jornada her soul in exchange for demonic power. Vespa will do anything to please the Dark Lady, even helping one she considers a rival in the race to gain Jornada’s approval.
Passus (Left) - Passus is a demon of suffering best known for his previous exploits within the game Dream.exe. During its creation, he had possessed Chastity and imprisoned Michael Shuman and a few others. He then did everything he could to make the game unbeatable. One day, however, a man by the name of Mark Edward Fischbach played through the game and reached Passus on the final level. Passus first attempted to persuade Mark to return to the bottom levels and stay with his friends. When Mark refused and even threatened to kill Passus he revealed his true form and weakened Mark with his powers of suffering. Yet even when Mark lost most of his powers he still managed to not only overcome the suffering Passus inflicted, but also exercise Passus from Chastity. Passus was sent back to Hell and did not emerge again until he found out of Sparta’s plan to conquer the realm of Inspire. Passus become one of Sparta’s greatest assets as he could manipulate the game’s world using the console that the main developers could use. But now that Mark has returned to this game Passus hopes he will have a second chance at revenge, and to inflict unimaginable suffering on the one who defeated him once before.
Dolorem (Right) - Dolorem is a demon of sorrow invited by Passus to join Sparta’s conquest upon learning of Markiplier’s involvement with the game previously. She has not had any contact with any of the heroes previously, but upon learning how happy Mark’s friend Jack is she decides to take it upon herself to give him endless sorrow in order to please the Dark Lord Sparta. (NOTE: I created her because I don’t think anyone has created a real demon threat for Jack to face in fan games besides Anti-septiceye.)
Vernandi (Far Left) - Vernandi is a minor demon created from a previous occupant of Inspire. While the character in question is still alive and well in-game, this demon copy has spent his time in Hell waiting to be used. Sparta has now chosen him to hunt down the Creator after he escapes his clutches. It is because of Vernandi that Sparta learns of the mysterious girl, but he knows not of the importance of her. All that matters to him is pleasing both the Dark Lord and the Dark Lady.
Inlectus (Far Right) - Inlectus is a demon of temptation that was once trapped in a powerful artifact - one that Bob had once found in an alternate reality (the storyline of The Minion Lord.) In said reality the artifact corrupted Bob and freed Inlectus, letting the two of them bond together. After Wade and co. were forced to kill Bob, Inlectus was separated from him. Now Inlectus has been invited to join Sparta and help him stop the Inspire version of Bob, who has become a Guardian. Inlectus will stop at nothing to have Bob become one with him once more in order to have his power grow to the point that he becomes a God-Level Demon.
Cruciatus (Back) - Cruciatus is a powerful God-Level Demon that once nearly destroyed humanity in the past. Several lower-level Demons that grew fond of humanity sealed him away to prevent his victory. In the Minion Lord trilogy, his bonds were broken and he was freed from his cage. The world was becoming engulfed in flames, and the only way Cruciatus was stopped was with the combined efforts of Wade, his friends, and the Demon Bluemoon (Gar). Having been purged back to Hell Cruciatus planned revenge, and upon hearing that the Minion Lord and his accomplices were in the land of Inspire he traveled to aid Lord Sparta in destroying the land. Like Passus Cruciatus seeks revenge against Wade and plans to give him eternal torment for the torment he received from the other Demon Gods for losing to a human.
