Legrand is chockfull of malicious monsters, gruesome beasts, and a dash of the familiar. The inspirations behind the following monsters are easily recognizable while still having the Legrand Legacy twist applied to them.
For today’s update, we wanted to talk about a couple of monsters that are inspired by the wild: Smutar and Mbedug!
Smutar, the Paralyzing Ant
Smutars are family creatures that live in big colonies with thousands of other members of its species. They are hard workers who burrow deep underground to establish their nest, but they migrate frequently according to the season.
The glowing red sphere at their back acts as a lure that attracts smaller species which are paralyzed upon contact.

Mbedug, the Witches’ Favorite
Mbedugs are solitary mammals that can be easily recognized by their stout long horn and fluffy ears. Their horns are a precious and sought-after commodity as local witches often use them in their mysteriously vile brews.
While Mbedugs do spend most of their time sleeping and eating, be careful if you happen to meet one in the wild - they can suddenly charge and attack without warning!
