We wanted to dig deep into Logan’s mind and find more about where the basic idea of Chicken Assassin came from. Why a clicker? Why a chicken? Why is he so buff and good looking and awesome?
To start off with the concept of a clicker, Logan said he and the team took inspiration from their own game, Goblin Treasure Hunt. The progression system of the game is based off of Goblin Treasure Hunt, except Mean has boo-boos to take care of that stop him from completing his missions.
The character decision was Logan and the team thinking about what kind of character would be the most ridiculous and hilarious to see. The team decided that a chicken assassin would definitely hit the criteria of most outrageous. Just look at the cute little egg Mean was in the Origins Level kicking butt! Who knew tomatoes could be so mean to a little baby chicken?
In the initial stages of concept, Logan and the team didn’t sketch Mean to be muscular at all. As time went on, the team kept adding things on that made them laugh and ended up with the ridiculous, muscular Mean we know and are a little bit afraid of.
