I watched Iron Lung on Saturday night by the way. My cinema was PACKED, my Mum had to sit a seat in front of me to the left, meaning I was crunched up with 2 strangers lol. The one on the left started yapping about the Iron Lung plot after the film.

One of my thoughts right after walking out of the movie is that this makes you feel you like you took SUPER CRACK while also being a good slow-burn. Going in, I saw reviews warning about the 2 hour runtime and slow pace so I was prepared for it to be Mark in the Iron Lung for the entire film. I liked it!

I was uneasy for the majority of the runtime like the feeling of calm is the last thing you’ll feel in the ocean of blood.

The reviews I watched a few days before the film were 3C Films and penguinz0. MoistCr1TiKaL‘s review mentioned about how hard it was to hear dialogue during some of the film and separating Markiplier the YouTuber from Simon. I personally agree with the first point. I also found it hard to hear a lot of the dialogue or understand it at times which is probably my biggest issue with the film to be honest, if you’re gonna be vague about the big picture you gotta make sure the audience can hear every word, I can’t wait for a possible digital release where we can have captions on. I did however get sucked into Simon the character and not just “Markiplier”, when he screams “SHUT THE F UP!” I feel that is a real actor, not some YouTube skit.

It’s crazy seeing no logos when the film started right after the age rating it’s straight into it, same with the trailers on Mark’s channel.

Apparently Sean (Jacksepticeye) himself had a cameo which I DID know about because of wikipedia, I could not tell where he was. But he supposedly the guy who got directly hit with the camera light when Simon was pulled back up.

The ending was INSANE but it was hard to fully grasp what fully happened because of that 2 hour crack-sesh this movie put me through but how people have interpreted it is that Simon knew he wasn’t going to ever escape, so when the creature destroyed the Iron Lung with him in it, he put the SM8 files into a backpack so that it would float up to the surface to give humanity a small chance at finding the truth and to save everyone else. Keep in mind that I’ve never played the game so this was my first true experience with the property.

Speaking of the game, the morning after my watch, I bought it plus its soundtrack on Steam and I’ll definitely play it on a livestream someday I swear. I just gotta get that new PC.

Overall, I’m extremely proud of what Mark and his team pulled off and I will absolutely support potential future films, maybe even on other horror titles!
