I am a disability ally, and a question that has been bugging me is: is it okay to use the r-word? I know already that it's used as an ableist slur, yet at the same time people use it as a medical term. People say that it should be banned from dictionaries, but I don't quite believe so. I think that it should only be used as a term and not an insult because: context matters. If you are disabled or know a lot about medical terms, please let me know your thoughts on this. Reminder I am not trying to be ableist or anything. Just asking.
