Soupy shower thought
I often have to question myself whether my interests in gaming, animation, etc. is lowering. If I've "grown out" of thing, or whatever. And my conclusion is that no, I don't think I'll ever grow out of what I love doing and partaking in. I love animation, art, gaming, etc. It's amazing to see what we people can do with what little we have. Something like that will never end and it never should. Keep creating things!
But what I have grown out of is shitting business practices. No longer should I allow myself to partake in disruptive ads, reruns of the same two shows, games becoming lost media, etc. I grew up watching animations and playing games. Nowadays, I rarely even turn on my TV cause I'm always plagued with the same reruns of popular shows, whether it's animation, live action, etc. Anytime a show tries to do something different (Infinity Train, ACME, Wander Over Yonder, etc.), they're quickly canned cause they're not making the higher ups enough money, which in turn leads to lay offs and people out of a job. Or I'm waiting for SEGA to not make yet another mid Sonic game, or any other gaming corp.
Nowadays, I get my entertainment from indie games and animations and just being in communities that I love. It sucks that so many things are plagued with microtransactions and immersion breaking ads, or the fact that I need to use an adblocker everywhere I go, the fact that I need to download and preserve every game I'm interested in because of the thought that they may get delisted in the future, or now I, as an artist, have to deal with the rising doom of AI. It's tiring and I hate it, but that just gives me all the more reasons to fight against it and I think other people should too.
