#IslamFact #9

Always respect your parents*.

You see, in Islam the 2nd most important deed in Islam (after Praying on time and before Jihad) is to obey and love your parents, making it one of the most beloved deeds to Allah

According to the Hadith:

I asked the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, "Which of the deeds is most beloved to Allah?" The Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, "Performing the prayer at its prescribed, fixed time." I asked, "What next?" He replied, "Dutifulness to the parents." I asked, "What next?" He replied, "Jihad (striving) in the Cause of Allah." Had I asked him for more, he would have told me. [Al-Bukhari]

So yeah, if you want to go to Paradise, your second priority after Prayer should always be to love your parents and always listen to them

*Exception being if your parents ask you to commit sin. Obviously. Say if your parents told you to drink alcohol or steal or any other sin, refusal takes priority

Also your mother should take priority over your father:

Abu Huraira reported: A man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, “Who is most deserving of my good company?” The Prophet said, “Your mother.” The man asked, “Then who?” The Prophet said “Your mother.” The man asked again, “Then who?” The Prophet said, “Your mother.” The man asked again, “Then who?” The Prophet said, “Your father.”

So technically, if someone tries to insult you by calling you fatherless, just call them motherless, that's 3 times as bad ;)

When people think halal meat, they usually just think, "Pork is not halal" and that's it.

However, there's actually a very detailed methodology on how any meat can be either halal or haram to eat:

The Virgin Mary / Maryam bint Imran was mentioned more times in the Qur'an than in the New Testament. There's also a whole Surah/Chapter called Maryam all about her life and the birth of Isa/Jesus, which differs quite a lot from Christianity

Jihad in Islam does not mean to fight enemies for political or revoltionary means. Jihad, which translates to "to strive" is to work towards the betterment of oneself (Greater Jihad) or to help others (lesser Jihad)

I'm sharing an oldie but a goodie :)

Contrary to Christianity In Islam, Satan/Shaytan was originally not a "fallen angel" but a jinn, a being made of fire called Iblis and doesn't rule over Hell, but rather tries to make people join him in Hell

Yes, the same Jinn as Genies
