There's gonna be a little bit of a shift in style for SOS' sprites. Nothing major, but I'm adding outlines around the edges to keep a similar feel to UT, though hard lines inside will generally be avoided. The less important NPCs will generally have simpler coloring/shading compared to more prominent characters. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how SOS' style is shaping up in terms of characters.
As far as other stuff in the works, I've been assisting with UT BnP again so that's cutting into my time a bit, but rest assured I'm still working on SOS! I still owe an updated Rex ref, and Roll needs one as well. After those, I plan to take a bit of a break from SOS to hone my digital art and storytelling abilities with a PMD comic I've been planning for a while now. While I'm happy with how my sprites have been coming along, my other digital art has been very hit or miss for me lately, and I could use incentive to practice. The SOS comic is nowhere near ready to be started just yet, as a lot more effort and planning needs to go into SOS as a whole compared to my PMD idea, and SOS chapter 1 is planned to be largely if not entirely sprite-based, which helps none for what I want to improve.
With all that said, new year, new me, and and hopefully new SOS content! Just knowing 2020 is behind me has already been doing wonders for my motivation. Looking forward to making more stuff for y'all soon!
