Legendary Entertainment (the studio behind the Monsterverse and Dune) officially closed a deal with MOB Entertainment to produce and develop a feature film adaptation of the hit survival-horror game.

While the project is confirmed, it is still in the early stages of development. As of now, the studios have not announced a specific cast, director, screenwriter, or official release date. MOB Entertainment CEO Zach Belanger has stated that they are treating the film as a massive "event" and are actively working on it.

Because the game's gripping, episodic storyline is still ongoing, filmmakers are expected to take their time to ensure it honors the dark lore of Playtime Co. without spoiling the twists of the game.

And yes, it's live action.
