Hello everyone.
We’re currently on day-3 of #adventurejam! And personally I’m feels great about the progress so far. We’ve got the first room fully functioned. And graphic side, pretty much well-decorated.
And also, I wanted to give more about “Bareboned” story to you. My main inspiration for this project is to make a set that looks like a toy diorama. I was stunned by Clay-set creation of ‘The Neverhood’ back when I was a kid in mid 90s. My aim is to do something along the line with that, production speaking. + mechanical / physical based puzzles.
Dungeon Keeper is one of the inspiration of this project. Many plots for AdventureJam came across my head during the passed month in preperation for the story line (it’s the only thing this Jam allow us to works on before the jam start)
Some plot are just regular life’s event. Some are the horrors story. Mostly about underdogs, do-gooders and something alike.
Bareboned and the character “Jawless-Jack” is not about just ‘let you play as a bad guys. I just want to look into the already established cultural references like D&D in a different point of view. Maybe some monsters was there in the dungeon, doing their job, guarding their treasure that they don’t even know why they keep doing this for hundred and hundreds of years. And so-called Heroes might act like a bunch of tomb-robbers.
And that’s how and why Bareboned happen in my head. And I’m glad it did :)
Hope you guys will enjoy updates from me. on the next one it will be more about design, screenshots and all things dev related! staytune!
