It's finally done, play Nezzen now!

I highly recommend you read this (if you’ve been interested in Nezzen)

So a lot has changed since the last version based on complaints of other people and myself. Here are 5 things that were not in the early build that are in the final build:

#1 One button (X) for shooting - If you hold X it locks your direction, so you can move freely and still shoot in the same direction until you release X (which is great)

#2 Linear level progression - Levels are no longer spider webs, they are like thinner, vertical, spelunky shaped levels

#3 Parallax backgrounds - This adds a bit more life to the game and gets rid of a lot of the negative space that clogged up the screen before.

#4 Game Jolt leaderboards and trophies - This is an objective positive and doesn’t need to be explained ;D

#5 MORE CONTENT! - 30 enemies, 15 bosses, 1 final boss, 5 distinct areas throughout 20 levels, you can actually win now = more fun factor

If you have any problems with the game, please give me feedback. Some of the achievements might still be bugged because it’s really hard to test whether they work or not. This game is complete but there are still things I want to do such as:

  • hard mode (double enemy spawns)

  • timer for clocking speedruns

  • endless mode

  • more achievements

Thanks for reading and (hopefully :D) playing!!!

For some reason, it's really hard to change the alpha value of a tile layer in GameMaker. You can do this easily for sprite or instance layers, but not tile layers. So here's a video on how to easily update the alpha value of tile layers in real time.

I'm developing a new commercial game with a small team! A demo will be coming to steam soon, but you can wishlist it in the meantime if you're into deckbuilding / autobattlers / roguelikes!

I'm currently making a Tetris + Mahjong hybrid game called #Nojong. Match colored blocks in the field to make clears. After a number of clears, the blocks left in your hand are scored, so you want to try and keep triples and quadruples in your hand.

Wonder if anyone can guess what kinda game I'm working on right now with this GameJolt session data as the only clue. I bet someone can sleuth it out!

Nojong, an arcade mashup of Tetris and Mahjong is out now!

Coming Soon! #Nojong
