I’ve been noticing a bunch of people just randomly start announcing/talking about the possibility of making a J4 revival, remake or whatever. I’ve been noticing many Jolly fangames that are set out to do what J4 started but “better”.
You people! You guys haven’t even read the script yet…and I’m going to be as realistic and honest as possible. Chances are, none of these revivals will come close to what Weshek was trying to achieve with Jolly 4. (By this I don’t mean J4 was good, but more so none of them would actually make for a good J4)
I’ve been noticing many of you people just green-lighting J4 revivals like it’s nothing without even having a proper script. That’s like the first order of business when making a game. Plan out your story, gameplay and miscellaneous information and translate it to a script, rather than just pulling the “Random bullshit, go!” move.
And if you people don’t know how to actually write, just be honest about it! If you don’t know how to write, then it’s fine. Just reach out to some screenwriter and ask for a petition on a script for the game. This is just not gonna work out if you people don’t have an actual plan and just do this stuff randomly.
If things continue like this (and they probably will), then chances are, this’ll become the next “FNaF+ Revivals” trend. Just random games that aim to recreate the magic of the original but fully misunderstand how to even develop a game.
If you are reading this and are working on/planning to do a J4 revival, please don’t fuck this up. Hire an actual team. Know what the fuck you are doing. Don’t just throw random shit in the wall for the fun of it. Do something because you have a vision and not just for petty views.
Guess that’s all me for today. I’m sorry if I sounded a bit harsh in this post, I just had to get this off my chest.
Love,
Radio Pontoons
