On these weeks I ahve participated on two game development Jams, they ended on failure in a sense that I didn’t finish on time, although I learned some things tht maybbe could be useful next time, so in order to not forget I’m gonna write them, jejeje.
1.-I have to concentrate on gameplay first. Art it’s an important thing but at the end of the jam I have ended with many draws that IA’m not going to use.
2.-Make a basic prototype and then polish. I see that other developers first script with a basic draw, so at the end they have a playable game with some animations. For me at the end I have animated characters without gameplay.
3.-Libraries.I need to code some libraries to help me whit my development, effects, lights, save, dialogs, etc.
4.-I need to write what I’m gonna and how I gonna do it.I change of mind many times so I ended up confused. Doing this list it’s one example.
It was a really great experience to participate on the jams, I have learned a lot, and it was a lot of fun. To bring my games to the next stage I need more organization and do my art on a most practical way, I’m eager to participate on the next Ludum Dare :), and by the time I think that I need to finis all my jam games jejeje.
