JAPARITALE Progress Report - (December 2022)


Howdy! In this progress report, we'll cover all the changes made until last month regarding game progress.


Poll Results

The poll results were quite surprising, and people chose for us to continue developing Japaritale from where we are right now. Thus, in conclusion we'll be continuing the development of Japaritale.

New Music

New songs have been added! Check out them in the Soundtracks section of this page. Things that were added are:

  • Extras (General) - by Animeliqite

  • Savannah Area - by Animeliqite

  • Tutorial - by Animeliqite

  • Credits - by Animeliqite

There aren't many changes regarding the progress of the story, and unfortunately we cannot show them just yet, so other things will be shown. In the next devlogs, we'll be able to show you all the progress regarding story.

Settings

The settings menu is going under recreation! It didn't contain many settings until now but with the second version there'll be a new configurations as in the likes of the "Keyboard Configuration".

With this, you'll be able to define your own keys for interacting, skipping, opening the overworld menu and moving. As for locked settings, they're going to be unlocked once Chapter 2 & Chapter 3 release comes out.

Achievement Interface

Now, this isn't implemented for the Settings screen yet, but the ones that you get in the overworld are changed to be better.

It doesn't stop the player anymore, and it has a quick animation sequence than a one that covers the entire screen for seconds. The "Achievement Granted" text is a placeholder for now, and it will be changed in the future.

Playable Mini-games!

This is only limited to Arai-san's battle, as playing games is important for this battle. Both for progressing and story. It is only accessible by ACTing, and it's not a button you can choose from the bottom. That's what makes this special, if that's how you feel about it.
