Please note: This teaser is unfortunately non-canon as JOLLY 4 has been switched back to being developed in Clickteam. Please take everything below with a grain of salt. Thank you!
For those who haven't checked out Ivan's TikTok page, there is a new video that showcases some new environments in Jolly 4. Take some time to experience it for yourself and then come back to this. You can watch it here.
Opening Shot
At the very start of the video, we see a darkly lit hallway as the building collapses. The Jolly head from Jolly 3 laying on the ground. The plant next to the mask tells us that this hallway is in the J3C1 area, as that area had a very natural aesthetic with plant life flourishing.
An Office
The next shot shows us one of the new environments. The new area is what we can only assume to be the office. A new mechanic also seems to be shown in the form of hiding under the desk, similar to Phase 2. From the view under the desk, we can see an elevator, the likes of which have already been seen before in this teaser. The desk itself has been a point of discussion for quite some time ever since it was in Ivan's Game Jolt banner. We are now able to see it in all of its glory.
The Console
The console itself has raised a lot of questions ever since its introduction a couple months back in this post. The console has to have some importance to the game, or it wouldn't be as heavily promoted. My guess for what it does is that it's used as a maintenance panel, more specifically this one:
The top of the maintenance screen caught my attention. There are two floors. The elevator in the office seems to connect the first and second floor, judging entirely off the screen:
A potential mechanic could be hiding when something comes through the elevator by hiding around the corner; and hiding under the desk when something comes from around the corner. The gameplay seems similar to the living room section from TJOC, which is a common inspiration for Jolly 4.
This is the corner I'm talking about. Picture is a little blurry though.
Above the console
Above the console is where things get interesting. Directly above the console is part of the system itself, but above that are two vent shafts. Look familiar? They are in the exact place that they are in on the maintenance screen. If the maintenance panel is connected to the console, then it would make sense for the vent system to be connected in the office as well. I even made a drawing to depict this:
Office Space
One of the following shots is of a massive office space with multiple cubicles. Along the top of the walls, we can see how their stock is doing (not good).
It is important to remember that this game follows after Jolly 3, which happens at the same time as Jolly 1. This means that Jolly Ent. is doing incredibly poorly even with multiple locations. In one of my theories awhile back I mentioned how Kevin Johnson is similar to Cave Johnson from the Portal games. Cave's company (at the time of it going under) wasn't doing so great. Cave desperately wanted to restore his company back to its former glory, even if it risked his life. Kevin seems to be in a similar situation.
In a teaser we got very early into development we saw a calendar showcasing some events for the week ahead. The calendar can also be seen for a few seconds in the office scene.
After taking a look at the calendar you may notice how involved Kevin is, more specifically with his new Goodtime characters. If his company is in financial ruin, maybe he made the Goodtime models to help bring his company out of their financial rut.
Front Desk
We get a good look at the Jolly Entertainment front desk, as well as two cutouts to stand behind: how decorative!
There are also two hallways behind the front desk. However, the camera moves too fast away from them to gather any useful information.
Tweetie Hostile Mode
A new animation of Tweetie switching from her docile to hostile mode was shown. I am a big fan of how smooth these animations look; very intimidating.
Full Trailer Soon!
At the end of the video, we get confirmation that a full trailer will be coming soon! I also want to take a moment to notice how only Trailer 1 is coming soon. Maybe Ivan will follow the same format as before and release multiple trailers, as well as a trailer when the game is ready.
Switching to Unreal Engine
Ivan has made the decision to change game engines from Clickteam to Unreal, where they are able to put their creations into 3D-space. They confirmed this by changing the game engine on the Game Jolt page.
Turns out that this change was only made a couple of months ago.
That's everything... for now... Make sure to follow the Game Jolt Page & Ivan's TikTok to stay updated when new content releases.
