It was really good, The UI is a massive upgrade from the 2008 original; the battles, main menu, and Zachire's shop all look so much more polished.
By the end, I liked the 16:4 battles. I think the more I looked at the transition, the better it felt.
I did notice that the auto-battle feature is missing, which is a bit sad but understandable. It's sort of just a way to quickly rush through the game without a second thought.
I love the little icons next to the names. It's a small bit but adds a lot.
The borders all look fantastic and fit the areas well.
The new animations add a lot and look hella clean, I like the little splashes when moving the batter in a rainy area.
That's all I really have to say for everything else, as not that much has changed. Now, onto the thing I want to talk about, which is the music.
The new soundtrack is SOOOO overhated.
In my opinion, it's on par with the old one, Toby Fox, Morusque, and Nightmargin (Maybe? Not sure if she made any tracks for Zone 0 and 1) killed it.
The hate I keep seeing for it, especially on Reddit, is so weird. The tracks are all REALLY good.
WHITE MEAT is incredible. Is it better than Pepper Steak? If I'm being honest, no, nothing can truly replace Pepper Steak, but if you view it without Pepper Steak in mind, it's fire.
Everything else, I don't see any or that much hate for.
But Dedan's theme, Oh, Dedan's theme, I do have some stuff to say about it.
I love Dedan's new theme to death, and I love the Papyrus reference in it (people calling Toby Fox a narracist for it are fucking stupid)
ALTHOUGH, it does make me worry how some Undertale fans will view OFF.
It gives off the impression of "The Other Undertale", like OFF is an Undertale thing, which isn't the case.
As long as the trend of "Undertale leitmotif's in OFF songs" doesn't continue and is just a One-OFF thing, then I think it'll be okay, but the second I hear MEGALOVAINA in the new Avatar Beat, I'm crashing out.
The new soundtrack rivals the original In my opinion, both are fantastic, also no, the new tracks aren't really "replacing" the old ones, they're just new tracks which are being used, if you prefer the old ones, listen to the old ones, if you want it in game, then there will likely be a mod for that.
That's all, Thank you to the 0.5 people who will read this.
