the reason she is sad is because she is unlucky as FUCC
her design is based off of the flag of the isle of wight (where she is from)
wight also (apparently) means someone who is regarded as unlucky, yes the reason she is full of sadness is because of the name of the place she is from
dont worry she does get her own lucky moments sometimes, but pretty much only once every season
