LABWS 1.9 released!

Long time no update! I’ve been away at my first semester of college.

Version 1.9 consists of me tidying up all the updates I was working on before I left to start school in order to get a point release that doesn’t make me cringe every time I play it and see the bugs.

Noticeable things I fixed:

-Title theme is about 3 seconds longer. Woo!

-If you collect a powerup as it’s fading out, the powerup icon in your HUD no longer appears to be transparent.

-The shield powerup finally features in the info screen after “Story”.

-The way the music is handled is now totally different. If this means that it has become less functional, let me know.

-I began coding stuff for a boss level, but it isn’t accessible in this version. I have a definite plan, but the next step I’m taking with this game is to recode it (hopefully more legibly) in libGDX, with which it can be easily ported to iOS and Android. Boss level will come immediately after that.

-Keep your eyes peeled for LABWS 2.0, coming to a computer or mobile device near you!!

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Showing off player 2 😎

What do you think?
