Hoo boy, this update is getting bigger by the minute.
Chica Cupcakes Skill rework:
Max Cupcakes: 2 -> 7.
Cupcake damage: 20 -> 10.
12s cooldown between each Cupcake planting.
No more yellow edge detection vision - just a thick fog. This will make it notably more clear that Chica doesn't see past this distance.
Chica starts using a new 'notification' system, wherein all of the cupcake status updates will be displayed on the left-middle side of her screen.
Once the max cupcake count (7) is reached, using the skill again will replant the oldest (being planted for the longest) Cupcake to your current position.
Cupcakes, instead of instantly disappearing the moment Chica becomes disabled as up to now, each 3 minutes of their planted lifetime they check if Chica still exists. If she does, they renew their lifetime for another 3 minutes, if she doesn't, they unplant themselves.
Bonnie rework:
Bonnie's base speed got lowered and he's acquired a sprint bar.
Radar will now highlight the Nightguards with a transparent, red color, and let you see them through walls without enabling Wireframe.
New NetworkTransport - Epic Online Services
Meaning; no more Steam errors, no more Spacewar!
It blows my mind how good it is, essentially giving me all the possibilities that Steam does currently, without even a need to have an Epic account / launcher installed.This also means improved connection / disconnection workflow, with now all of the networking key events (connectionEstablished, connectionFailed, fetchPlayerListFailed, ServerStarted playerDisconnected) being all properly logged out to the player in the form of pop-ups, with reasons where relevant.
Room design reworks (not shown here):
These we'll keep being a bit more secretive with. But let me tell you, they are mindblowing. I have attached a small teaser of the new Corsairs Bay.
Spectators see pretty much everything of the spectated person.
(This comes with a rework of pretty much every skill in the game, so that it complies with that brand new Spectatable system).
Unity Engine and Mirror (Networking library) update. (Which has resulted in numerous network performance gains, and minor fps performance gains). (It has also resulted in me having to rewrite even more of the game than I originally intended to - countless things broke...)
I'm finishing this up, slowly, but every minute it feels like I'm further away from the goal, not closer to it. The (forced upon me in order to use Epic Online Services) Unity & Mirror update has really pushed this update back with how much stuff it has broken. But I'm hoping to release it fairly soon.
Look out for public betas on the official Discord soon-ish!
