Hoppel's Funhouse: San Francisco Deluxe Edition is absolutely not cancelled.
Okay? Okay. You got it.
Hi everybody. Doing alright? Great to hear. I've been a little silent. Not on the whole posting side of things (dear God I've been loud), but in regards to San Francisco: Deluxe Edition. Quick rundown for those of you who somehow don't know, the "current" version of San Francisco that's public and playable is the fourth version and is considered one of the "legacy" versions, since it's outdated. In case you're wondering where the heck the other three versions are, you're in luck, because I'm actually gonna briefly talk about that here today! But, one thing after another.
I've been holding you off for long enough. Why are there no new teasers? Why is there no development shared?
Two big reasons.
Number one,
Siren Documents/Contract. Yeah, you ever heard of it? Chances are you haven't! That's because it's my personal, private little (not so little anymore) story I've been building together with my closest friends and co-partner @EllieRedruby03
over the past year and a half. So what's the big deal here? It's a roleplaying series, so how come it's taking so much development time? Well... let's just say a couple of, cough, executive decisions made by Roblox caused a little bit of a problem and we've had to move away from the game we were previously roleplaying in to go ahead and make our own game. Very successfully so, might I add, the game's great and we've done some very awesome stuff there that I otherwise wouldn't have gotten to do if I wasn't in charge of the game (Ellie remembers Keizer).
In short: I've been spending a lot of development resources (I say that as if I'm not in a duo) on that game rather than Hoppel.
Number two, and the one you've been probably looking for,
Deluxe has already gone through three different versions. Now, to the common folk among you, this might mean incredibly little. So what? Well, if you somehow have knowledge on how San Francisco's development went, you'd know that Legacy Edition (the currently released one) also went through many, many different versions before being settled on, some almost completely done.
Here's development screenshots from version number 2 (in roblox at least):

...aaaand then a more familiar version with number 3.

So, as you can see, I have sort of a track record with making games, scrapping them, starting over, and scrapping again... and the same thing's happening with Deluxe right now.
Actual Development footage from Deluxe (wow! how did it take this long?!)
Here's a look at Hoppel V5 and the skins he would have had.

These would've been obtainable with a currency system known as "cards".

You could gather these by discovering them across the map, obtaining badges, and play time. They would come in packs of five, with different types of cards that you'd need to unlock skins for their respective portrayed characters.
Concepts for Hoppel V6, which would've been a full redesign rather than a remodel with minor tweaks. The endoskeleton was entirely unique.

A look at what the new stage is supposed to look like. Heavily WIP at the time and uses older versions of Billy and Phillipp as placeholders.

Entrance build. Posters were placeholders.

Heavily unfinished office area.

Gif of the main menu screen & character select, which currently uses all temporary models. (There's some nice sound effects and music but Gamejolt won't allow me to upload videos... oh well.)

Waterpipe travel mechanic. Pipe itself is temporary, and so is the Hoppel morph shown here.

There is, of course, a newer version of this, which I won't be showing just yet, but if I feel like it, I might show it off during a developer stream.
Slow and steady wins the race, uh, if the race is my own interest in developing the series? Anyways, I'm gonna get back a couple of months from now and then we'll be right back to it. I just really, really need those 3 Siren Documents games done and over with.
Thank you as always for stopping by and listening to my rambling.
