I thought this was pretty interesting to talk about
So I don't have any screenshots of this sadly, but in the really early stages of FNaS 5 T.E.G 60 years later, Lightning Sonic would have some very different mechanics.
The main one I wanted to discuss was the "music player" mechanic.. thing.. I don't really know what to call it lmao
The idea was that, instead of the flash mechanic, there'd be a different mechanic. Lightning Sonic would still be inactive in the music room, but instead of him slowly waking up and having to flash him, there'd be a music player in the same room right where L Sonic was standing, and it was supposed to be the source of the background ambience present ingame. Anyways, at random, the music player would turn off and if it was off for too long Lightning Sonic would've woken up. You'd have to click on it to turn it back on. This was scrapped because I was bad at coding and the result was super glitchy, so I just replaced it with a simple power mechanic.
Anyways, this next subject is one I actually have visuals for!
The power mechanic.
Again, this one was in heavy beta stages, but basically throughout the night the power would randomly malfunction and you'd need to go to the "electrical room" near the top of the map to fix it. Since the old versions of this game were incredibly heavily inspired by Porkchop's adventure, I can only assume that's where I got the idea.
(here's an image of the electrical room I left over in the files, as you can tell I've definitely gotten alot better at modelling lmao)
anyways, you'd click on the electrical box, and hover the mouse over this button thing to restore the power that I dont have an image of. I remember planning Lightning Sonic would activate when the power went out, and you'd have to do something to ward him off, but I never planned out what he'd do and how you'd defend yourself.
So that's all the stuff I wanted to discuss, have a good new year's eve
