Hey Hey! Been awhile hasn't it? Thats just to do with the fact I been on a little back and forward with personal things and working on this game. And also because schools starting back up for most of the team. Luckily i have a short schedule for my year, so i will be able to manage with working on life and this game during my last year of highschool.
First is that i finally swear the office is finished. No more reworks, im happy with it as it is. Its a little more cramped and its definitely more dark, which makes it even spookier when animatronics appear at the doors (which i have attached an old photo of me testing that)
Secondly my PC has gone under a BIG upgrade, im now using a RTX 3070! Cycles has never rendered so fast till now, so rendering these scenes doesn't take a whole hour now! (The new office has 42 frames for the fan oscillating, would have taken god knows how long on my RX 6700XT)
Third is well, the character retextures are getting a little complex. Due to StarGlitch (Character modeller) having a pretty shit pc. The characters have some limiting factors when using them for scenes or in this case retexturing them. No IK meaning I have to manually pose the legs, and the UVs aren't the best on some of the models. Now this isnt the fault of Star, they cant afford a better pc atm and with only being able to use Blender 2.79 for all the modelling since its the blender version they know the most which unfortunately lacks more modern features that make life easier. So the current character being retextured which is Bahbah, has to go under a SLIGHT makeover, and most likely expected, some others might need a slight makeover as well, like Yap. These wont hold back coding for the AI when the time comes for that, placeholders exist for reasons! (Fun fact, these characters are 2 million polygons! this is due to them having fully modeled endoskeletons)
Fourth is that the 720p conversion is starting for the game. As stated in a small update the Menu transferred over with basically no issues. Luckily I have not rendered the camera frames fully, so no need to rerender any scenes just yet other than the office.
Fifth and finally is if you couldn't tell, the menu is finalized! Last things needed are Syren to make the music for it and we will be smooth sailing onto the next menu areas like the settings screen.
Welp, thats all we got for now! I will still update on progress from time to time and show more off as we progress. - Veniadev
Next up
give this dog a beer now
seeing the funny bear movie sequel today :)
LOUDER is on hold till early December, with thanksgiving coming up and my lasts tests for my first term of college I will be focusing on working on these rather than LOUDER. As an apology heres some stuff
if it says anything, i made a windows xp VM and made an account for a MSN Messenger revival to make an accurate cutscene
Your free souvenir is printed! Please return tomorrow to claim!
HOPE!!!!
happy "venia feels bad for not posting enough so take some concepts" day
YKW, i got my Soma successor and thats perfectly amazing. Heres the placeholder intro cutscene for LOUDER featuring PwP music as a placeholder
Fun fact, the new Yap model for Louder is incredibly difficult to render. Even on my high end pc (with an RTX 3080 mind you) it struggles. So if you wonder why it may take a bit to get final renders into the game, she is literally one reason why.
