Low End PC Optimization

I have been working on optimizing #KittenSAdv a lot for lower end PC’s by implementing LOD’s using an asset called “Cruncher” which has really helped me with creating various tri count variations of models used in game.

For example, the “Lost Forest” level was previously pulling 1.1 million+ tri’s and 1.2k+ draw calls, now tri count stays between 300k - 700k with no more then 800 draw calls max (generally stays in between 300 - 600). This has improved performance greatly and increased overall frame rate by 15+ fps.

(Catnip bags were turned off in the scene which is why you see the messed up numbers at the top :P ).

Here's a peaceful little forest scene for this #screenshotsaturday, from the beginning of the game.

Runestones: from concept to in-game model🗿

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Demonstration of the spells and their effects :)!

Why walk when you can jump?
