At last we have a worthy reveal, enjoy the very first reveal image for MST!
Peace Keeper is a little project I thought about a long time ago as I felt there was never enough content in TNSR and so with that I’m happy to announce..
The Night Shift: Iggy’s Funhouse Peace Keeper
What we have here is an expansion as I like to call it, planned to release 17th July that adds a bunch of new goodies to the game.
Biggest feature planned is a brand new Hardcore mode, still haven’t finalised exactly what this will be but one thing I can say is that it will be harder..much harder.
Hardcore Mode
With Hardcore Mode this game will be a lot more difficult with changes to A.I as well as a few other inconveniences along the way. As well as new difficulties, Hardcore Mode will bring a few new story elements and secrets into the mix. I hope this adds to the experience and creates a few more challenges for people.
TNSR was never as hard as I wanted it, this should hopefully mitigate that.
Despite Hardcore being the biggest feature, I have also been working on a couple other things to help update the experience a bit more.
New sound effects
- New Night Start Sounds
You may notice right now that if you boot up a night on TNSR you hear a little jingle at the start of the night. (Anyone who’s played CoD Zombies should instantly recognise the sound.)
I have since remade these, the old ones were very tricky to make as I had no idea how to use FL Studio properly at the time.
- Backing Music for Magician’s Challenge
I had planned to have some music there from the beginning but we have it now so better later than never.
- New 6AM Jingle
Some of you may be sad to hear that the old 6AM jingle of me making the tune with my mouth when I was high as a kite is unfortunately no more. I felt that for the theme of the game it would fit better with a proper jingle.
- Updates to certain sound effects.
Some of the sounds feel dated to me, I will be targeting those ones. :)
Story (Spoilers, you have been warned.)
I can’t go into too much detail as once again, nothing is finalised completely at all however I can say a little bit.
TNSR’s original story was more jolted towards Jim’s story arch and how he wounded up becoming The Magician.
However with Peace Keeper the game will be based more around Matthew and his struggle for happiness as part of Hardcore Mode.
More Secrets
I always like setting challenges for players. Easter eggs are always fun to make. I find that it brings the game to life.
Now of course this isn’t every single thing being changed, I will make a proper changelog when this has been released but I will be making minor adjustments to the current game as well as a load of other things for the update.
Other features being considered currently are…
- Update to visuals
Some visual elements such as UI look a bit unclean to me so I may end up changing those a little bit.
Android Version..maybe?
Now of course we have an android version of the game, and as much as I would like to keep mobile fans happy, I’m not sure how all these changes would translate over to the mobile version so we’ll just have to wait and see for that. I’ll keep you guys posted.
Possible game website
I’m also thinking about creating a Gamejolt website solely for this game. Of course there is already a page but I thought it’d be a bit of fun. I’ll update you all if that does happen.
Now this is the current plan so far, I have started work on this update already and have got all the music in game and working and have started attempting to implement Hardcore Mode, however due to the crazy amount of ideas I haven’t actually started working on, Peace Keeper may not release on the 17th, I will let you all know if I decide to delay it or not, I’m comfortable with the release date right now but anything could change for example motivation, that tends to be the bigger problem with my work, not the difficulty.
Hope you enjoyed the reveal and there will most certainly be more news about The Night Shift: Iggy’s Funhouse Peace Keeper in the coming weeks.
Thank you for all the support. :) - Tom
