(Chapter 2 here: https://gamejolt.com/p/medieval-business-the-novel-chapter-2-monday-really-has-gone-down-jfvm8ecq )

Lynsie rode back, as fast as Sorbet could carry her back to Ludurn Fort, hoping to make it back before anything bad could happen. I hope Totlan’s alright, I’m so unsure what I’d do without him. Thought Lynsie. Lynsie’s husband, Totlan, was the most important person to Lynsie, and intended to be together until death do them apart.

Lynsie made it home, and quickly hopped off of Sorbet and ran inside. “Totlan! Where are you?” She called out. Lynsie turned around as she heard someone rushing down the stairs. “Lynsie!” It was Totlan, he ran towards Lynsie and gave her a huge hug and a kiss. “Thank the lord, I was so worried about you. How has things been in the field?” Totlan asked. Lynsie started to shake and shiver, before eventually sitting down on the floor and broke into tears. “Lynsie!” Totlan exclaimed. “Lynsie what happened up there?” Totlan asked while physically comforting her. “T-They- They’re all...dead. Everyone...N-Not just- Not just Ludurn Fort’s Warriors, b-but Shilk’s entire f-frontline as well...” Lynsie replied while sobbing greatly. “Oh my... that sounds terrible dear.” Totlan said as he thought for a moment. “How about you come up and rest for a while, then in the morning, I can help you gather new warriors to assist you in defeating this new enemy?” Totlan finally said. “A-All right...” Lynsie spoke with fear and tiredness.

Totlan carried Lynsie up to bed and laid her down carefully, tucked her in and kisses her goodnight. “I’ll see you in the morning darling!” Totlan said as he left the room. Lynsie fell asleep.

. . .

Lynsie woke up, well rested and feeling quite better. She got dressed and put her armour back on. She sheathed her sword and draped her cape over her right side again. Finally she grabbed the rest of her things and got up to go down the waxed wooden stairs. “What’s that good smell?” Lynsie asked her husband. Totlan looked over at her and spoke “It’s apple pie, darling! I figured you could use some!” Lynsie smiled, and nodded, got to the table and sat down. Totlan grabbed Lynsie two slices of apple pie and laid them in front of her. As Totlan sat down, he was about to reach for his book but Lynsie grabbed both of his hands first, lovingly. “My dear, are you all right?” Totlan asked her. “Y-yes dear, but- I need you to promise me. Whatever happens, we stay together, I can not lose you, as I lost my warriors...” Lynsie trailed off.

Totlan gripped Lynsie’s hands before speaking “I promise you darling, that you shall never be without me. I am here for you always, until death do us apart.” Totlan smiled up at her.

Lynsie smiled and nodded before carefully, and daintily eating her apple pie.

She finished her apple pie and looked up at her husband. “Well shall we go into town and find some warriors?” Lynsie asked.

“Yes, let us get going on now” Totlan replied as he got dressed in a nice overcoat and went outside to wait for his wife.

Lynsie looked up out into the sky. One day, there will be peace...I’ll make sure of it. Lynsie promised to herself. She then got up and followed her husband outside, ready to go on the next step of her journey.
