Mesh Visualization Mode

A very quick and hot status update during these last hours of 2021 (from the CET timezone)!

We've just completed the implementation of the various visualization modes in the integrated ShipBuilder. The most exciting visualization mode is the "mesh mode" which displays the ship mesh structure on-the-fly while you place individual structural particles:

"Mesh mode" fills-in the gap between the traditional "Paint" style - i.e. the pixel-by-pixel visualization of structural particles as displayed by image editors - and the real game, in which the ship structure consists of a triangular mesh over the individual particles. In this mode you can't make mistakes and you'll be presented directly with the structure as it is in the simulator.

This feature concludes the bulk of the ShipBuilder features that we had planned for the first release of 1.17. Stay tuned as a first release might be coming quite soon!

Happy new year to all Floating Sandbox fans, and looking forward to allowing you to build fantastic ships in 2022!

Out of boredom and curiosity, I coded Sailor Jupiter's Argentine Backbreaker.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa MarĂa Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
