Mechadeus

Mechadeus is a giant metal god based in the Glass Desert of the Helios Prime system. He created the 3rd Generation of Metamen 6000 years ago. (He created the 1st and second ones earlier, but this isn't about them)

Soul Core

All Metamen have a Soul Core, which is their brain and power source. It's nearly indestructible and self-sustaining. Soul Cores are created by Mechadeus and given to Metaman couples to create new Metamen with.

Each Soul Core has unique parameters and limits for what kind of Metaman it can be turned into, like what kinds of metals it can control, and how much.

Body Composition

Metamen are almost entirely made of their named metal, with the exception of their Soul Core, their eyes, and their paint.

Their eyes are made of a crystalline substance that turns light into various electrical impulses that their Soul Cores can read as vision.

They paint themselves instead of wearing clothes. Every part that isn't visibly metal or eye is likely just painted metal.

Communication

Metamen speak through radio waves instead of sound. If you spoke to one, they couldn't hear you, and you couldn't hear them, unless you had a radio, but then there's still the alien language barrier.

Worker and Crafter Dimorphism

Workers built to gather metal and beat the crap out of aliens, so half the power of their Soul Cores goes into making their bodies capable of holding and moving 8-16 times as much metal as Crafters on average, but are unable to add the metal to their bodies on their own, so will eventually be reduced to only their Soul Core if left alone.

Crafters are built to build and repair Metamen, so half the power of their Soul Cores goes into powering an internal 3D printer like device that can absorb inanimate metal and add it to a Metaman's body.

Shape Shifting

Metamen can shape shift, and the softer the metal, the faster they can change shape. They have to manually focus on each part to change shape, but once changed, they don't have to continuously focus to maintain it. Changing back to their default shape is much easier.

Aloy Fusion

Metamen's Shape shifting allows 2 or more Metamen to shift into each other's bodies to make 1 bigger body. They can still only control their own metal, so they have to move in sync or else they'll rip away from each other.

Birds and Bees

A Soul Core is requested from Mechadeus.

The Worker and Crafter fuse so that their Soul Cores are touching and interlocked, then the new Soul Core is plugged into the Crafter's Soul Core and activated with information from the Crafter and Worker.

Then metal from the Worker and Crafter is absorbed to form the body of the new Metaman.

The process takes only up to an hour.

Once separated, the new Metaman is smaller because they only got a little metal from each parent, so they get built bigger as they learn over the next few weeks by the Crafter.

It is possible to make a full sized Metaman in a few hours, but do you really want someone with the brain of a baby in the body of a metal giant?
