Satoshi Kanemaru was not always Spider-Wolf, Yūji and Hanako are not his biological parents either.
For generations, ninjas of the Shuriken House (手裏剣家) have protected Sōkyō (奏京) from evil. Their power is passed down from parent to child, through history, until this very day. Minato Shuriken (手裏剣湊) was the greatest among his bloodline… and so, it was with great joy that Satoshi Shuriken (手裏剣聡) was born to carry on the tradition, to be Minato's successor. They seemed to have a happy normal life until an international criminal syndicate known as the "Black🖤Heart" (based on the Toppat Clan) broke into their home unannounced; Minato fought to protect Satoshi and his wife, Kushina Shuriken (手裏剣くしな), but he was killed and the Shuriken House was entirely on fire. As a last resort to protecting Satoshi, Kushina hid him in a cardboard box. They share an emotional goodbye before she is tragically killed by the Black🖤Heart. The box was eventually shipped to the Chao Café, where Hanako found him inside with a pillow, a blanket, and a written note. Afterwards, Satoshi was adopted.
Also, their fur colors are actually references to my Friday Night Funkin' drawings.
