Hi Folks,
With launch looming I wanted to reveal the minimum (tested) specs for It Will Find You, and discuss briefly what you can expect from performance etc.
Minimum (Tested) Rig Specs:
i7 processor, CPU 2.2 GHz
16gb ram
Win 8.1
64-bit
NVIDIA GeForce 940MX (2GB DDR3 dedicated)
So the game has been tested on these specs with the lowest quality settings, and runs relatively smoothly, but is unlikely to work on older or less powerful machines.
This is largely due to the way the game was designed initially as a Masters Project, and then became a commercial release product. A large part of the project was increasing immersion levels, and one of the first steps towards this was to remove all loading screens.
As part of this, the game runs as one persistent world, so the only loading screen is the one you get when booting up the game (this can be long as it is loading everything). Due to the size of the map and the quantity of elements within, older systems will struggle to load this.
A lot of work has been put into optimising the game though, and will continue in the future, so most rigs with more power than minimum specs should be able to run the game smoothly at a stable 30 fps.
Optimisation is a learning process for me, and I will continue to improve performance as time goes on, and hopefully allow older systems to eventually join in on the action!
As for recommended specs, a lot of the testing has been on
Recommended Rig Specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz
12GB ram
GeForce GTX 980
Windows 10 64-Bit
RealTek High Def Audio
With best performance achieved on a Razer Blade 15.
I hope that helps give an idea of whether your PC can play It Will Find You, and can't wait to share the game with you.
Until next time,
Nick
