Minor Update, v1.1: Lots of problems and poor gameplay

Changes

  • Difficulty balancing (it's, hopefully, actually possible now), not easier just different

  • A better tutorial (explains that you can lose power by pressing certain buttons and how much you lose per second on other things)

  • High temperature now increases power usage

  • Improved Little Dog's mechanics

  • Improved Cat Fiddler's mechanics

Patches

  • Little Dog no longer kills the player even after getting scared off

  • Cat Fiddler no longer instantly breaks cameras later in the night

Note

I was not expecting to do an actual update to this build.

It mainly focuses on the tutorial's conciseness (or lack thereof). The whole point of the power and temperature system is to reward calmness; pressing more buttons than you need to will decrease power more quickly, and using the cameras when you don't need to will take extra power you could've used later.

Oh, I also wanted to mention that we're sitting at a little under 700 lines of code compared to the previous 1100 in the main script

(if you like game music, check Six Hours at Diddle's page)

The second track of Six Hours at Diddle's OST, "Grim Sounds", is now on the Game Page

I got my first 1st place :D

I've fixed over a dozen bugs, heavily improved the gameplay, and now I must prepare to add the new content! Here's a screenshot btw

(GameJolt compression kinda ruins it)
