SETTING: I had this dream not long after FNaF 2 was released. It took place in the FNaF 1 location, but it was all black and white, and any variation of gray. I was a lot younger at the time, so my head met the edge of the office’s desk. I couldn’t climb up on it.

The dream started in the office. I went up to the desk and reached my little arms to the ringing telephone. I couldn’t get it off of the receiver, and the ringing stopped. I left it be and headed out into the abyss of the left hallway. It was too dark to see so I hugged the wall until my eyes somewhat adjusted, and I found my way to the main area. There weren’t any animatronics. The sign for Foxy’s Cove read “Out of Order,” nothing out of the usual. But a banner hung over the vacant main stage for Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy, and it read “We know what scares you.” (Suspiciously, a song album by TryHardNinja with that name was released years later, so that was spoopy.)

The next part I remember was that I went back to the office, but then didn’t go right out of the East Hallway door (left door.) I went left. Instead of a wall though, there was s reception room, but with no other doors. Plushies decorated the shelves behind it, each price tag hanging below the shelves having a year rather than a price. One of them was my birth year, 2005. This was the one that DIDN’T have a plushy.

At this point, the sounds and music you hear during the nights in the first game started playing. The moment I hear Freddy’s overture jingle, I made a dash down the hallway and to where I knew the original reception area was. I spontaneously stopped in front of its desk and was forced to look up at its shelves. On the very top one was where the Puppet, or Marionette, was propped, laying on its side. It wasn’t long before it/she sat upright and peered down at me. Even though it didn’t do anything else, it was still ominous.

That’s where the dream naturally stops. In an almost-recurring dream approximately a decade down the road, when I watched gameplays of Sister Location, everything was the same except two things: The Pirate Cove sign read “SAVE US,” and the Puppet was replaced with a mangled and torn apart Funtime Foxy. It acted like it wanted to get at me but it couldn’t. It kept twitching and jolting. On its final reach toward me, though, it deactivated.

That’s one of my most memorable FNaF dreams. I call it the monochrome FNaF dream for obvious reasons. I have another FNaF dream which includes Nightmare, the big black bear in FNaF 4, but that’s a story for another day.
