More Development Progress


Development has been steady. A lot of bugs have been popping up as a result of adding new perks. It’s been interesting coming up with some different ideas for perks.

The animated GIF is an example of some of the “interesting” things I have been doing with Perks.

My initial plan was to have 48 perks in total (to equal the number of weapons available). And I’m pleased that I’m down to just 3. Yep. 3 left.

It was a challenge having to come up with a lot of the more recent ones. Especially because I ended up making them affect not just player/enemy attributes… but also game play, (again… refer to GIF above).

But I have no regrets. This game seems to have taken a life of it’s own.

As I had mentioned in a previous entry, I plan to bring out 3rd demo. Which I plan to be the final demo before release of the full game. I’m making sure that a huge part of that demo will be not only feature-rich compared to the last demo… but also to have the best gameplay so far.

I want to do this thing right. I didn’t think this title would spark this much interest as it has. It’s motivated me to give it my all as far as development is concerned. The amount of gamedev that has gone into this game is quite interesting (for me at least).

At the end of the day… whether this project becomes a great success or just another game that gets lost in the ever growing ocean of video games… I owe a lot of my gamedev progress to this game. Who would have ever thought Oscar would one day create shaders in GameMaker? Crazy, right?
