Multiplayer is on its way, and here's how it will work!

Hello everyone, and happy new year!

I know Christmas is over already, but a few people suggested I’d add multiplayer, and since I already had a fun game to build upon, I took the chance to add it. And it’s been coming along nicely! The things I have left is basically just some polishing and some new features that should be added.

Here’s how multiplayer will work:

To host a game, you must port-forward the ports 7777 (TCP), and then the people who want to join you must join using your public IP. So basically just like Minecraft. (Unfortunately, I don’t have any servers to host a “hop in and play” system. ) Now, when the host starts their game, the players have 30 seconds to join. If they don’t join during that period, they will be moved to spectator until the next round. But if they do join in time, you’ll all be placed into the map and you’ll try to survive. When you die, you’ll have to wait for the next round to respawn. All the points gotten by killing enemies are given to all players, so no player can horde all the points, but the score is only given to the player that gets the killing blow on an enemy.

And here is a screenshot to prove I’m not lying to you!

It will be a while before it gets out though. Even though it’s not much left to do, my work week starts this coming week and I won’t be able to work on this at all for a week.

I hope it will be worth it, even if Christmas may be over! It’s been a fun learning experience to develop this and it will certainly come in handy for my next project! ;)

Thanks for reading!

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.
