My problem with Role-based AUs

Your AU or role list doesn't mean anything if you don't have any actual substance backing it up. Too many times have I seen a person just post a role list and expect people to be interested in it. I don't care if you replace SpongeBob with Krabs in your Spongetale take. I don't care if you replace Frisk with a new human in your Underswap take. What's the story? Roles isn't even a part of normal Undertale. That's a completely made-up fanon thing.
