My review of FNAF 2 MOVIE

It's PEAK and Terrible at the same time.

(SPOILER ALERT)

I finally see the movie FNAF 2 and I really loved it, but I'm not going to throw roses at it either. I'll just clarify this

Here I will give my most sincere opinion and I will also try to analyze the movie as objectively as possible so that I can come to a conclusion about whether it is a good or bad movie

I don't like to be too harsh because I know that behind every product there is a lot of dedication, and yes, this movie was made with love for the franchise, but on this occasion, I feel compelled to harshly criticize its flaws (because I'm not a conformist fanboy xddd).

Let's begin!

First, the good things about the movie:

The first act

The movie begins with a chilling flashback with Charlotte, and the entire flashback was excellent.

.Also, when we return to the present, we get to see a little more of Abby at school and her robotics class, how Mike and Vanessa are doing, where you can see some chemistry or a relationship developing, and they also clarify things that were left a mystery in the first movie, such as Aunt Jane, who we finally know is alive and told the whole town about Freddy's

It starts off at a good pace, although this time there isn't as much dialogue as in the first film, which for some makes the scenes less boring or long, but despite that, it doesn't feel rushed.

And the scene where the investigators go to the first Freddy's and are killed by the toys, and that incredible revelation that Puppet can control his victims, was great.

Vanessa's nightmares were also good, showing more about her fear of her father (although I found the way she confronted him a little funny). Even so, it shows how Vanessa is trying to overcome her past and all the trauma caused by her father, and when she shoots him in her dream, it seems to show that she is no longer so afraid of facing her father, but she still has the trauma.

In addition, the fact that later on we learn how she met Charlotte has made Vanessa feel like a more complete character, although it's also sad that she has so much trauma in her life

The first act works well

The animatronics

Come on, obviously they look beautiful, they're a visual delight

The toys look really faithful to their game designs and there are no changes that differentiate them, unlike the animatronics in the first film, and the voices of the toys are excellent, even Megan Fox did a good job.

The Withered undoubtedly have the best designs, with Withered Chica being my favorite because she's the scariest to look at.

It's just great to see them in action and hear the robotic sounds they gave them, especially the Withered ones. For me, it's satisfying.

The horror

Well, it's not the best, in fact, to a certain extent, it can be considered to be about the same as the first movie, but at least for me, it has improved.

There are more jump scares, some of which can really get you, the atmosphere is good, and it has that slightly unsettling touch. Now there are some terrifying designs, such as Lisa turned into a Puppet, adding to her movements, Withered Girl, and Mangle.

It's not a great horror movie, but at least here it doesn't feel as nonexistent as the first one.

The deaths aren't very memorable, but they are somewhat creative. For a PG-13 movie, it managed to make the deaths brutal. For me, Tom's death was the most horrible

Soundtrack

Absolute Cinema!!!

The soundtrack is amazing, both the ambience music and the soudntrack that is directly a great song like the Intro. It's really good and I'm not going to argue about it

Puppet

I think she was the best character. Her motivations are clear: her blind rage makes her think that all parents are bad and now she wants to kill everyone so that the children do not suffer the same fate as her. She's a vengeful soul.

I think it's an interesting change, since Charlotte isn't like that in the game, but in the movie they changed her lore, and I don't mind the change. In fact, it has made her character more interesting.

And the fact that she manipulated the toys and controlled her victims shows what a great threat she is.

This is simply excellent for a horror movie

After seeing the best part of the movie, let's now look at the average or mediocre things about the movie:

Second act

Watching the movie becomes kind of ridiculous, the pace becomes weird, with so many cuts between scenes because now there are several subplots.

Abby took Toy chicato her school for her science fair, since her teacher broke Abby's invention because the teacher is very mean to Abby, and Abby had no better idea than to take Toy chica. (although, well, it was actually Toy chica's idea, but it was ridiculous that Abby agreed to it anyway).

And then Toy chica kills the teacher (deservedly so).

Here they leave aside Mike and Vanessa's relationship, Vanessa's nightmares, and Puppet controlling those mini-puppets. They literally left that aside.

Mike and Vanessa feel forced to do separate things. While Vanessa goes in the car, Mike stays in the office deactivating the robots, and here two things happen.

The Withered activate them and Mangle attacks Vanessa, while the science fair continues, and while Toy Freddy and Toy Bonnie are on the street.

(How many subplots does the movie have now?)

From here on, the pace becomes somewhat chaotic, and a lot of things end up happening (which matches the game it's based on).

But honestly, despite that, I thought it was decent. It has a few things that don't make sense (we'll talk about that later), but at least this act is fun to watch

The withereds

The Withered were underused. They had very little screen time, but in that short time, for me, they were the highlight. The FNAF 2 gameplay in the movie was satisfying, and seeing Balloon Boy die was a 10/10.

But there's a problem: the mask was a big script convenience and Mike's reaction was unrealistic. Instead of hiding or running, he puts on the mask... It doesn't make sense. At the very least, in this scene, they should have left a note from a former guard explaining its function. That would have made the scene more meaningful.

W. Freddy has his horrible mechanics, but I'm not complaining so much about that because the mask belongs to another Freddy, so.....

But my fear about this character ended up coming true.

Withered Freddy wasn't the main threat. I should have expected that

Henry Emily

Well, the character was fine, but he didn't appear very much. Also, why didn't he help Mike?

He just gave him the music box.

Well, thanks to him, we had a little more information about the incident and William.

Seeing the post-credits scene, it looks like he'll have more importance in FNAF 3 MOVIE, and I hope that's the case.

But Henry feels like a Meh character, because he hasn't done much

I'll say it again: why didn't he help Mike confront the Puppet?

Comedy?

The movie is a slasher film, and like all slasher films, it doesn't take itself seriously and sometimes they throw in jokes, and most of them are funny, but at the same time, some feel out of place or ruin the seriousness or tension of the moment.

There's a moment when Abby was possessed, and after getting rid of Puppet, she says she feels like she's going to throw up calameros or something like that.

That ruined the tension in that scene a little.

But hey, there's no shortage of laughs. The movie is funny, and I think making the movie not take itself seriously was one of the best decisions they made.

Nowadays, no one takes FNAF seriously anymore. In fact, most people (including fans) stopped taking the lore seriously after Security Breach.

The first movie was serious, and that's why some people didn't like it or thought it was ridiculous that it tried to be serious given the premise.

This second film is not like that. It doesn't take itself seriously, and thanks to that, we have another very popcorn-worthy slasher movie. Even if you don't like the story and make fun of FNAF, you'll find this movie to be one of those movies that are so bad they're good, kind of like Willy's Wonderland.

Tofinish, the BAD things about the movie:

Abby

Abby's character has a problem. I understand that she wants to see her friends (friends who also tried to kill her), but at this point she comes across as annoying because she is very foolish and challenges Mike again, even though in the previous movie she learned to appreciate her brother more.

And this is another problem: Abby hasn't changed at all and makes decisions that, to a certain extent, are considered very foolish, even for an 11-year-old girl

Seriously, she never doubted that Toy Chica is the Chic she knows. She never wondered how she changed bodies, because now she talks?

Inevolution

The characters didn't evolve much; it seems like they didn't learn anything from the previous movie. Vanessa is still the same, or rather worse, due to her trauma, even though she tries to overcome it.

Mike, too, can be irrelevant to a certain extent, and the only really useful thing he did was play FNAF 2 to deactivate the robots. In fact, he's the only one who tries to evolve as a character by trying to leave his past behind, but in the end, he ends up being the same.

And Abby is exactly the same

Ridiculous moment

Look, I'm very grateful that we don't have another fort scene, but I don't know what's worse:

a fort scene or seeing Toy Chica at school as Abby's project.

Didn't anyone wonder how a little girl created a big robot?

The final battle, THE FINAL BATTLE... It was one of the most epic and ridiculous things I've ever seen

I really laughed a lot when Chica arrived. Her face is hilarious

(Couldn't they adjust their eyes properly?)

2025-12-23_143216.png

And also how Vanessa reacts when she rips Toy Chica's head off

How could Mangle, with so many limbs, let himself be defeated by Bonnie?

Better question, HOW DID THE ORIGINAL ROBOTS GET TO HOUSE ON TIME??? Did they teleport? Did they walk several blocks?

Did they take a taxi? OK, no

Micheal Afton

This was just fan service because he does almost nothing, he only appeared at the beginning and the end.

He is a very underused character whose motivation feels superficial.

He wants to continue his father's legacy, but what legacy? Could you explain a little more?

I mean, his motivation is clear, he wants to continue that legacy, but it would have been better if you had gone into a little more depth to understand it better.

Michael Afton exists, what was he doing during the first movie?

Withered Bonnie

This really makes me angry. When he appeared, I said, “HERE'S MY GOAT,” and I was excited to finally see him in action, only for him to disappear a second later and leave me with this look on my face

What they did to him was AN INSULT TO ME.

HOW COULD THEY MASSACRED MY RABBIT?

Script holes

This is terrible here...

Normally I wouldn't be so bad at this, since Scott wrote the script alone this time and it's the first time he's written a script for a movie by himself, but... Something he does know how to do well is create lots of holes and never notice them :|

COMPILATION:

1-How did Charlotte get inside Puppet?

2-Why does the music box put him to sleep, and why does possessed Abby get scared when the music box plays?

3-How did Mangle get on top of Vanessa's car? When did he get there, and how come Vanessa never saw him before she got in the car?

4-How did Puppet get into Toy Chica without destroying the entire torso?

5- How does Puppet control his victims?

6- HOW DID THE ROBOTS FROM FNAF 1 GET TO MIKE'S HOUSE SO QUICKLY?

7- How did Puppet manage to contact Abby on Faztaker, and how does he know Abby's name?

8- When W. Foxy was deactivated, he didn't fall to the ground, he literally jumped.

9- Balloon Boy in the water??? Didn't he get electrocuted?

10- How did the Minipuppets kill Tom if they're plushies? They don't even have teeth.

11- How did Michael know where Mike lived?

12- How did Michael activate the Toys? I mean, did Puppet no longer have control over them?

13- Didn't anyone at the science fair see the dead professor?

14- How do the animatronics move without making robotic noises, or do people not hear them?

15- Toy Chica carried Abby in her arms to her house, so she was walking down the street like that??? lol

And 3 more that I'll talk about later

The third act

At this point, this act completely ruined the film.

This was very rushed and strange. Abby is possessed by Puppet, and Mike arrives just in time to scare Puppet away with his music box. Then the toys arrive at Mike's house, and Michael takes his plot twist, and the animatronics give their epic and, at the same time, silly final battle. Michael escapes and receives a tremendous punch from Jeremiah (because Jeremiah would hit a stranger).

And the robots are deactivated just like that. Golden's soul says goodbye to Abby and leaves, although it was never made clear that they will now rest in peace, so can they come back? I don't know.

And here comes what I liked least about the movie: the terrible ending.

Mike leaves his own house???

And he says he no longer trusts Vanessa....

Mike, I understand that you're angry with Vanessa for not telling you everything, but you did ALMOST NOTHING. Vanessa helped you throughout almost the entire movie. It's because of her that YOU are with Abby.

This scene really made me angry. How ungrateful of Mike, and why is he leaving his own house? They couldn't even do a scene with Abby asking, “Where are we going?” and Mike or Jeremiah answering where, but they didn't even do that. They made Mike look like a fool.

And Puppet now possesses Vanessa (Vanny?) and ends the movie leaving me with a bittersweet ending.

I literally said, “THAT'S IT???”

This ending was just bad. This final act was terrible and ruined the whole movie. And what happened to Michael? They didn't show him again. Did he escape? What happened to him?

The post-credits scene was very good, I'm not complaining about that

CONCLUSION

The movie is terrible, with poorly developed characters that feel superficial because they weren't explored in depth, a good first act, a messy but decent second act, and a terrible third act, with many script conveniences that aren't even subtle.

The fan service is mostly good, but some of it is blatant, like that final battle, made to please children. I've seen comments from (I assume children) asking, "Will there be a battle between the toys and the Withered?

Well, here's a battle just because............... fanservice

They didn't even develop the souls in the robots.

And there are some jumpscares that are blatant and bad that gave me the same vibes as Cult of Chucky, bad jumpscares unrelated to the plot

I can see that Scott tried to write a good script, or at least one that makes sense. The movie tries to explain a lot of things to be coherent, but at the same time, it ends up creating some inconsistencies. However, I appreciate that they patched up some of the script holes that the first movie had.

The truth is that critics hate it, and YouTube critics say it's horrible, which makes sense.

(By the way, I haven't seen any YouTube reviews. I wrote all of this myself and was as honest as possible. I didn't let myself be influenced by those reviews like many people do).

It was a movie made with love for the fans, but it's so bad that even some fans find it insulting, and that disappoints me but unlike the first film, which they hated more than they should have and some of it is unjustified, here all the hate is justified.

Personally, even with its flaws, I liked it. I found it entertaining from start to finish. Although objectively FNAF 1 is a better movie, FNAF 2 is a better adaptation. I loved the movie and liked it more than the first one. It's another guilty pleasure of mine. This sequel is much more entertaining, but objectively it has a worse script than the first one.

If you ignore those flaws, it's a good movie to pass the time, but it's very necessary to criticize its shortcomings.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a 5/10.

END

To be honest, I don't have much faith in the FNAF 3 MOVIE. I'm worried about how it will turn out,

and given how the original game is, this will easily be the worst of the film trilogy.

I don't really expect anything good from FNAF 3, except for Springtrap.

and even though FNAF 3 is my second favorite FNaF game, I'm still not excited. I know it's going to be a bad movie. You guys can have faith that it will be good, but sadly, I don't think so :(
