So we all know about that post Scott made years go called, "The Retcon Issue", right? Well, I came up with my own idea that I haven't seen anyone else suggest. Y'know how Golden Freddy's OG name was Yellow Bear? Well, I think THIS is the retcon, hear me out.
Evidence:
• Scott mentioned how the retcon wasn't a noticeable/groundbreaking change, a simple name change would line up with this sentence.
-"The retcon was actually very seamless and went unnoticed by most people".
• It's widely accepted the retcon happened before FNAF 6, and we first saw the name "Golden Freddy" in FNAF 2.
• File decompiling FNAF games wasn't that popular back in 2014, so likely most people wouldn't know the name, "Yellow Bear", hence aligning more with the unnoticeable change that was mentioned before.
