#MyFavoriteGame

I already explained why I love Splatoon in it's 10 year anniversary special post, but i guess I'll remake it.

Splatoon is my favorite game. From it's gameplay elements to the community keeping it alive, I love every single bit of it. And regardless of wether I keep dying or keep winning, I've enjoyed every second of it and always will.

What's Splatoon?

For the people who don't know what Splatoon is, Splatoon is a 4v4 shooter in which both teams have their own respective ink color. To win a game, you and your fellow teammates have to ink the most of the map. The winning team will be decided by Judd, a cat, who will precisely calculate the amount of turf covered by both teams.

Though having paint guns is not the main thing in the game. Instead, it's the fact that you're an Inkling, an evolution of squids that are mostly in a very human-like shape, but can transform into ink squids because of their anatomy, being mostly ink and cartilage besides the vital organs.

This allows the players to swim in their own ink. With this mechanic, you can move faster, climb and do surprise attack against enemies. Of course, this ink comes with a price. You have an ink tank that loses ink if you shoot or use secondary items (bombs or other cool ink stuff). You can fill it the boring way (just doing pretty much nothing, and it'll take some time) or the epic way, by hiding in your ink (faster ink recharge + sneaky sneaky) or even swimming in it (even faster ink charge).

If you swim slowly, you won't be visible. But swimming quickly will squirt the ink, making enemies detect you easier. Also, enemy ink disables your ability to swim in squid form and significantly diminish your movement speed.

Apart from this, each game respectively have TWO "hero modes" (except the first game), one being with the game and the other being paid DLC. Each one of them have great storytelling, good gameplay and interesting action, all that while the ink physics and realism get better and better with each game. They reveal the sad truth behind (more like below) the young Inklings' happy activities. The Octarians, the second "main team" with an octopus variant of the Inkling (octoling), and tentacle soldiers. The octarian enemies list is mostly machines, as Octarians are better at engineering.

I'd LOVE to tell the lore here, but it's really long and dark, and I'm really tired. Thanks, Splatoon, for all the good moments I've had throughout my life.
