Hello everyone,
Thank you for your amazing comments, feedback, and patience. The first update for myPOPGOES is now out, addressing some flaws and adding some new bits and bobs to help make the game even better.
It's very likely that we will expand this game with new gameplay, unlockables, and lore, for a paid (very cheap) release later this year. I've seen so many people asking for Steam and mobile launches which has been incredible. I didn't expect people to love this cute little project so much.
Onto the patch notes!
New Gameplay UI - Each Day in the myPOPGOES toy now has its own page with a summary of what it entails.
New Day Difficulties - Each resource now has its own modifiable difficulty. We've adjusted Day 2 and Day 4 to have more interesting setups rather than being consistent with the rest of the week. You'll see what I mean.
New Anti-Cheat - Very basic anti-cheat has been implemented that will probably be broken in 2 minutes. It should prevent those ridiculous high scores on the scoreboard.
New Day Resume - After you win, or die, the menu will remember which Day you just played and keep that option selected.
New Instructions Prompt - After watching Dawko's playthrough, we realised that apparently the glowing instructions sheet wasn't enough... Upon booting the game, there will now be an arrow pointing towards them as well.
Fixed Credits Music - The music during the credits sometimes cut out too early, which has been fixed.
Fixed Dark Sticker - In the original build, the star sticker that appears in the top right of the toy would go dark during the "Please wait..." sections of the game.
Fixed "Jump" Scores - High scores that are sent to Game Jolt using this build will no longer say "Jumps" on the GJ scoreboard. Please note that you can no longer submit high scores using v1.0.0.
Fixed Completion Preview - The extras and star are no longer flash in the main menu for a split second when they are not unlocked yet.
Fixed Death Jingle - The death jingle should play now no matter how you die.
New Nose Honk - You asked...
Keep the feedback coming! Do you have ideas for "challenges" with unique mechanics that can be added to the game that DON'T require new buttons (only use left, down, right)?
