Possible lore?

I've been thinking of some lore, such as why would you be fighting the homicide time trio in the first place. Here's the lore I came up with up.

so I tried to get ashurafied versions of tails, knuckles, and amy, but I was only able to get an ashurafied amy since there weren't any romhacks where tails or knuckles replaced sonic. so instead I used the sonic 2 XL romhack to make ashura fat

I was bored so I made overworld sprites of Storyshift Chara and Asriel. (I know the designs I used aren't the real designs but I wanted to put how I imagine their storyshift designs to be. Also, sorry if the image is small but they are overworld sprites.)
