Her lore (half of it) ≈>
• Discovered her ability after a
certain
event happened at a factory visit with her father.
• Her father was spiraled in debt, and somehow ended up borrowing money from a Japanese mafioso, a doctor, whom later came to know of Mary's ability. The father was horrified to know of the man's identity, and how he knew the possibilities now that they've crossed paths.
• After realizing his dire situation, and how endangered Mary was, he saw it fit to send her off to a boarding school to maintain her safety.
• You probably know where this is going. His decision was irrational, and the consequences were his and his family's to bear now.
• Her father and family were murdered while she was away, and it was orchestrated in such a way that framed her unfavorable stepmother.
• Mary was devastated, and couldn't think of what to do next. The mafia took advantage of her emotional turmoil, and manipulated her into believing her father willed for her to leave with his 'friend' whom 'takes care' of children with dangerous abilities.
• She gets taken into the Mafia's custody at around the age of nine if not older.
• She gets relocated to Japan from London shortly thereafter.
• At first, her stay wasn't all bad, the lodging that was granted to her was somewhat comfortable to live in, not lavish, yet not shabby at all. She even got introduced to a young girl, that was supposedly 'like' her. Her name was Elise.
• Elise never disclosed her 'ability', and Mary didn't mind it. She could be strange at times, but Mary was thankful for her as a friend.
• Life there wasn't bad for a while. She was getting settled in and familiarized with the place for a two to three months, and lived a somewhat steady life for a year and half until... It was decided that play time was over.
• Hence, her training began. It was torturous to say the least. Mary was scarred mentally, and betrayed emotionally. She had to watch people drop dead altogether due to the fact she was unable to control her ability right. She was forced to train on dozens of men and women, the stakes of her failure were their death.
• Outside of ability training, she went through acrobatic, marksmanship and reaction speed training til she her feet couldn't bear to support her anymore.
• Her ability's progress was relatively slow, which led the Doctor to 'assist' her. He increased her training hours, and supervised her studies.
• It was a must for her to be educated in poisons and their antidotes, also having to build an acute immunity to them at the very least. The Doctor took it upon himself to aid her in gaining
full
immunity.
• The only thing that kept her somewhat sane was her friend, Elise. She would invite Mary to tea and dress up parties whenever she was off on weekends. She tended to her, and gave her painkillers and allowed her proper rest on her bed whenever she needed it
(Which was a lot of the the time).
.
Mori always watched over them
(he's the mafioso that brought Mary here, in case you missed that)
with his ever irritating smile on his face. Mary couldn't believe there came a time where she respected him despite his unsettling, and subtly disturbing personality.
• A little less than a fortnight is what took her to realize that she was tricked, and pushed into an underground organization against her will. She dreaded to consider whether or not Elise had to go through such training as well, and her heart crumbled at thought of her one and only, dearest friend being tortured similarly. "How long ago was she brought into this life?", an eleven year old Mary would wonder in silent agony and sadness.
• Mary grew to detest her life, and Mori along with it.
... I fed y'all too much (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.), I'll be posting her lore in the form of two to three posts. Idk when the next post would come out, so enjoy this one in the meantime, I'll do my best to gain some motivation.
