Hey all! Been a bit since I wrote a proper devlog. So, for old times sake, I figured I'd write one!
Firstly, I'd like to thank you all for your patience with the new update. I've been busy with other projects, so I couldn't really give Mended much attention. Also, a screw up when making some renders killed my motivation at the time, though I'm over that hurdle now.
As a proper treat, I'll give y'all some new stuff to look at!
New Characters
The main selling point of this update, new characters! Thanks to the model pack made by BennetJL, I've had the opportunity to add plenty of familiar faces to the roster! Admittedly, I'm not the most experienced in Blender, so the animations are gonna look a little funny, but ultimately I'm having a lot of fun putting things together.
So, I'll quickly cover a few characters you can expect to see on the roster! It's worth noting that most of these are Fazbear Hills characters, as I'm going on a per-area basis.
Helpy
Here to help! Helpy's primary role is a supportive one, providing your team with useful tools to lessen the blow from enemies! Birthday to boost all your stats, Party Favors for healing, Gloom Song to reduce incoming fire power, and Hot Cheese for damage over time!

Trash and the Gang
What? That's right! The Trash is now playable! Having my personal favorite attack animation in the game (primarily because of Pan Stan), they come equipped with all sorts of wacky moves! Jumpscare, Balloons, Waterhose, and Munchies will help them lay on the hurt!

Candy Cadet
Candy for all! Candy Cadet is our first character to come with a new move: Candy! Rather than being a single full heal, it instead heals the party numerous times! An individual piece of candy doesn't heal a lot, but there's strength in numbers!

Happy Frog
Ninja skills! Unlike the others mentioned today, she'll be encountered in Dusting Fields! She also has her own custom move: Smoke Screen! Upon use, your party will be obfuscated in a cloud of smoke, rendering the entire team harder to hit! As such, enemies will now have a chance to miss you while this smoke is active! Great if you want to avoid taking damage, and pairs excellently with her Speed Song to keep the pressure up!

And more!
Since development stagnated around Lilygear, I don't have many more characters I can show off from here, but I do want to give you guys something more interesting than just Pizzeria Simulator characters. So here's the icon for a new character. They're actually pretty finished as is, but they're encountered far later than the others mentioned today, so it felt off to mention them.

New Moves
While I did mention some of the new moves in the previous section, I'd still like to dedicate a portion of the devlog to just these!
New Look, Same Function
Moves have a new look in Mended! This was primarily done to make editing and adding moves easier, as well as just standardizing the way moves look across the board. On the plus side, all moves will now properly flash like the originals did!

Candy
As mentioned before, Candy is a new healing move! Upon use, Candy will rain from the sky, repeatedly healing your party a small amount. This also scales with levels to an extent, so you'll be able to heal more the higher your level goes!

Smoke Screen
Another move mentioned before, Smoke Screen will grant your party increased agility, making enemies randomly miss! To be more precise, an active Smoke Screen will give basic enemies and challengers a 50% chance to miss, and bosses a 25% chance to miss.

Sleepy Story
Now for a move you haven't heard of yet, Sleepy Story! This move puts all enemies to sleep (though bosses won't sleep for long), granting you plenty of time to gather your bearings, heal up, and ready yourself to continue the fight! Just keep in mind that sleeping enemies will wake up if they take damage. You know, this reminds me of a time I was walking through the park with a good friend of mine...

Crash Song
An old move finally given life! This move was originally only accessible by using the Custom Moves modifier. If you forgot, it's a variant of Bash Jam that has a low chance to instantly kill an enemy! Like Sleepy Story, you haven't met the character who'll have this move yet, but chances are you can probably guess who it'll be.

What's Next?
Well, not much has happened since development picked up, but honestly that's to be expected. I still get sidetracked some days, and I had to refresh myself on a lot of the old systems. However, there is progress being made. Today I got one of the new Lilygear Lake characters done, as well as their new move. If you can guess who it is, I'll commend you. (Hint: I haven't shown them off at all).
The rest of Lilygear Lake shouldn't take as long presuming I don't get distracted. Now that I've warmed up to the systems again, it shouldn't be as difficult to add in new characters.
There are, of course, other changes I'd like to make alongside the addition of characters. But I figured they'd be good to talk about later. Maybe you'll hear about them soon.
See you on the flipside.
