Calla Carra is a woman from France during the Medieval Ages, who was asked by Blitera to join the Bliterian Empire when he time travelled there. She joined the empire, and became a highly skilled soldier and artist. However, there was something strange with her paint.

Her paint wasn't normal paint, but was instead paint with blood put in it. Due to a supernatural reaction between the blood and the paint, the blood and paint become Life Paint, a version of normal paint that transfers whatever is drawn with it into reality, if it has a form.

The hat she wears, Hattio, is a living, hat shaped glob of life paint, and is sentient, and gives Calla advice. It also sometimes tries to rise up against Calla, but to usually little success.
