I’ve come up with this new concept for PvP battles in DF Online, and I’d appreciate it if you could tell me what you think. Here’s what I’ve got:
There are 6 PvP-compatible skins: Frisk, Chara, Sans, Toriel, Undyne, and Mettaton EX. More may be added in the future.
SPELLS will not be making a return. Instead, the regular FIGHT option will appear, and you’ll attack just like you would with a regular battle in Story Mode. The attack meter will appear and you’ll inflict damage based on your accuracy and the weapon you have equipped. After you’ve attacked, you will have to dodge an attack randomly chosen based on your opponent’s character. Afterwards, it’s your opponent’s turn to attack.
The ACT option will still allow you to talk to your opponent.
ITEMs can be used in battle, but require you to skip your chance to attack like in regular battles.
SPARING your opponent will now be an option. If you select SPARE you will skip your chance to attack, but your opponent will be informed that you want to spare them, and if they spare you as well the battle will end. The battle will no longer count towards your rank, but it’s a good way to end a battle if needed.
Personally I think this solves most of the problems the original PvP had. Battles will be faster since dealing damage no longer relies heavily on your opponent’s ability to dodge attacks, and it’s more accurate to Undertale’s battle system. Plus, for the pacifists out there who complained that the old multiplayer demo was too focused on killing, you can now spare!
However, I’m open to suggestions, so feel free to let me know your thoughts. Thanks for your patience, folks!
