So, it turns out that one of our artists, Bot, is absolutely full of surprises! Imagine our shock when he posts some original music tracks! Here's one he's made for New Eden:

So it looks like our multi-talented Bot will also be creating music for New Eden as the months go by! We couldn't possibly ask for a better team, and we're stoked to learn more about our talented teammates!

The following is an excerpt from our Story Bible detailing the history of the City-State of Blusaaje, which is located in the middle of the Saventhore Ocean (what you or I might call the Pacific). It is home to a race of amphibious humans who originally descended from the people of Ardensaaje to the Northwest.

Around 1370 AC (After Cataclysm), Renkatan fishermen begin to report the first of a series of pirate attacks out in the open ocean. They say the pirates come from the deep ocean, but the Renkatans, considering themselves experts of the ocean, never believed that anything could live that far out into the stormy water. The stories remain stories for a long time, but they soon become a nuisance, and the elders of Renkata strive to find a way to track these pirates down and eliminate them.

Also around this time, contact is made between Ardensaaje and descendants of the party sent to establish contact with Renkata, who now call themselves Blusaajis. The messenger tells the governing bodies of Ardensaaje that their boats went severely off course, were destroyed, and the party (made up of his parents’ generation) was shipwrecked in the open ocean. Survival equipment helped, but they mostly lived in a human chain and after a few days they were growing too weak to hold themselves together and not drift out into sea. It's said that one night, one of them – just an insignificant deck-hand named Bakula – started chanting and praying; screaming into the wind. He let go of the human chain and started levitating above the water, and a huge vortex began to swirl underneath him. Jets of water lifted each of the castaways up into the air and relived them of their treading. After an hour of this, with Bakula screaming at the top of his lungs chants, songs, and prayers that none of the others had even heard before, a mountain began to rise up out of the deep ocean, its jagged peak splitting the night sky.

This story has never been confirmed, and Blusaaje keeps their history locked away from the eyes of foreigners, so it's unknown whether the mountain/island that the city is built into was in fact raised by Bakula’s powerful magic, or if it was volcanic activity, or even if it existed before the shipwrecks even arrived. What is known is that the mountain is surrounded by a constant vortex of violent waves, presumably powered by some kind of centrally controlled magic field. The underwater entrance opens up to a vast system of large dry caves, some of which contain massive lakes of clean, drinkable water, and sometimes even fish. It’s theorized that there are hot springs deep beneath Blusaaje which filter the water and provide such favourable conditions in the middle of the ocean.

Still, life is very difficult in early Blusaaje. The caves are very dark and dangerous, and food is scarce. Bakula’s rule is harsh but fair, and though they suffered many casualties the first few years, his status is quickly raised nearly to that of a deity. Bakula encourages the embellishment of tales of his exploits, but also backs it up with a powerful command of magic. A patriotic religion begins to develop around him, preaching a message of supreme faith in the strength of the collective Blusaaji will. When Blusaaji babies began to be born with gills, starting as early as the late 1500’s, this faith in their will to adapt and survive was only strengthened.

The Stronghold is something of a pseudo-sci-fi castle, full of Husks and Rottwell Guards. We can't wait to show you this in-game!

[Weapon Showcase]

Later this week, we hope to publish a video that highlights and showcases a specific weapon type, showing it's strengths and weaknesses. These will be something akin to a League of Legends Champion Spotlight video. We'll give this a try and see how it's received. If you guys like it, we'll for sure do more, if not, we'll spend the energy elsewhere!
