AdAge magazine, in an interview with Blumhouse’s marketing director, wrote about the Five Nights at Freddy’s promotion process:
One thing that really helped us was that Scott Cotton, the game’s creator, was heavily involved in the making of the film.
He knows the audience better than anyone at Blumhouse or Universal.
He knows the world of the game very well and is very good at bringing that special feel and lore to the film, while being careful not to give away too much or go overboard.
He knows when to build excitement and when to pause.
When you’re dealing with a fandom like FNaF, having someone like Scott who understands the fans and knows how to steer the advertising campaign is a real blessing.
He continued the interview by adding:
It’s not easy to promote something that already has a huge fan base.
You always have to be careful not to alienate your old fans in your attempt to attract a new audience.
We were lucky to have Scott by our side to help us stay on track and not make any mistakes along the way.

🎬 Josh Hutcherson has confirmed that he has recently been doing interviews for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
He said in an interview:
I had a press conference for Five Nights at Freddy’s yesterday, I’ve been doing interviews all day today, and I’m going to have more interviews tomorrow!
It seems like there are a lot of interviews in the pipeline for the film’s marketing department.

📸 New promotional images and videos have been released from the upcoming Lucca Comics & Games event.
The event is set to feature a "special surprise" related to the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 movie.
