Things can always get worse.

New Hope is a recent Undertale mod that attempts to revive a now defunct and popular mod, Undertale: Bits And Pieces, but does things in the most shady way possible. From making a donation link to monetize their mod, to sending their supporters to attack the BnP team(despite being built on top of said mod) and those that disagree with New Hope's decisions, this mod is an example of what NOT to do in the fangaming scene. Mods like these should not exist as they could set a new precedent to the UTDR fangaming scene that now it is perfectly okay to profit off of fan creations. This goes against Toby's word and the meaning of fan-made games and the community surrounding them in general.

Edit(Dec. 16, 2024):

The Hope and Dreams people posted a response and it's pretty dumb and typical. They basically confirm that they have a donation page for the game(which is not great btw) and are using it to hire artists. They also deflect the stealing claim by saying stuff like "nah dude they're just references and concepts and just look very similar! they'll get reworked!". They end the post by saying whatever like "don't believe what you see on the internet" and stuff like that. I won't link the post here cause, frankly, they don't need the attention, but I'm sure you guy can find it if you dig.
