Hello! I'm back with some information regarding updates to the game! Unfortunately one of them is not good but I'll get to that shortly.
By the way, I apologize for the silence, but I had to rest after the release of chapter 4. I was tired of working on the game, so I took a break.
Update for Henry's Son:
The update is almost complete. I fixed a lot of bugs and added some smaller things.
Let me say right away what I mentioned at the very beginning. I have bad news.
As you know, I've been working on the saving system. Most of it was ready so I was testing the game with this system. Unfortunately after these tests it turns out that I can not add this system.
Let me explain it now as simply as possible.
So this saving system wasn't working as it should.
Let's say you are playing chapter 2 and you save at the end of the chapter. When you load this save, all dialogs, items, doors, etc. reset to their original state. So if you opened a door, it is now closed. If you pick up an item, it will return to its original place. The game thinks you picked up the item, but this item still appears when you load the game/
What I mean is that you have a locked door and you need a key to open it. You find and take the key and you can open the door. You save the game and load it. You can open the door but the key still appears where you found it. And that happens with every single thing in the game.
Why is that? It's the fault of the game design. When I started Henry's Son I never expected the game to take over an hour. It was going to be a bunch of little quests and puzzles. If the game was going to be a few minutes long, I didn't create a saving system because it wasn't necessary at that point.
To add that system now I would have to make the game completely from scratch. I'm not going to do that because I spent over 2 years creating 4 chapters. So for this reason, the game unfortunately will not get a saving system.
As a consolation I can say that the game has some checkpoints, but it's not different than the saving system.
So this is the list of changes in this update:
-A lot of bugfixes
-Many improvements
-Slightly better optimization
-New soundtrack
-New sound effects
-Report Bugs function
-Improved animations
What will not appear in this update:
-Saving system
Believe me I tried to solve this problem but in this case it is impossible :(
The update will be released before the end of the month.
Chapter 5 development:
I've been working on chapter 5 and a youtube trailer has also been released. Work on chapter 5 is ongoing. I can't say too much.
I plan to release chapter 5 before the end of the vacations. August at the latest, but I want to release it as soon as possible.
If you think chapter 4 had a lot of cutscenes, I wonder what you'll say when chapter 5 is released!
Let me say a little more about the plot.
Chapter 5 will explain the plot of the game. Get ready because there will be many plot twists in chapter 5!

My exams :(
I have exams coming up in May.... This may delay work on the game. There's a good chance that I won't be in contact with you because I'll have to focus on studying for my exams...
I wanted to mention this because it affects the development of the game.
This is where I will end this post. The update will be released within a few days. After that it may be quiet about the game due to exams, but after exams I'm going to go back to work on chapter 5 with double speed!
