New month, huge devlog


Hello everyone! It's already the 4th month eh? Time flies by so fast.
A new month means it's time for a new devlog. And a pretty big one to boot!
First of all, I'm happy to announce that the mod is in it's finishing touches and will possibly see release pretty soon this month. I had actually planned to release it late last month but due to work-related circumstances, I had to unfortunately delay it again. But hey, that means more time to iron out some stuff.

And now, onto the juicy stuff. During my time making this mod, other than several dialogue changes and re-characterizations of the main cast, I have attempted to significant improve the game both visually and gameplay wise. I have covered unique passive names, and the new sounds in two previous smaller devlogs, check them out if you haven't already. Here are a couple of other changes/additions made compared to the og game.

To start off, the story select screen has been significantly streamlined compared to the the one in the og (which solely rely on the Choices window with these images as the background). It kinda works similarly to the TNGaU's story select screen in a way.

Hm, what's that? "Achievements". Oh yeah. You're seeing it right, Achievements exist in this game like the og, though it's not the usual Achievement script being used this time around.

The one used for this makes a sort of a built-in achievements using Pictures. You will also see what achievement you get from a popup like those fancy X-Box achievements. If you've played a certain Christmas themed Desk Fan game, you'll likely recognize it.

The menu for the achievement is made entirely from scratch however (the one that came with the script sucks, as seen in the game I mentioned, and I'm sorry for that one).

Aaaanyway, perhaps the most important changes are most of the skills the characters have to offer. They have been, for the most part rebalanced/reworked. I can't reveal all of them at once in this devlog (it will make it too large) but I can share some of them. Check it out.

As you can also see, skill costs are also a bit more varied instead of using only MP and/or relegate TP to a limit break skill. More details with rebalanced/reworked will be revealed in the changelog that will come with release

All that being said and done, I do apologize if I had kept you waiting for too long. This game's release has been delayed around 5 - 6 times due to some things needing to be iron-out. Hopefully this game will be worth the wait.
