Q&A
Q: What does being trans mean?
A: Being transgender means you identify as a different gender than the one you were assigned at birth (IE the one the doctor gave you after looking at your genitalia.). A common misconception is that the person "chooses" to be their gender or "wants" to be, but it's actually completely involuntary. (Most of us) have what's called "gender dysphoria", which means that when our body doesn't look/sound feminine/masculine/androgynous enough, we get uncomfortable looking at it and living in it, and being referred to with the wrong pronouns or name has the same effect. To understand how visceral this discomfort is, take the feeling of touching wet food in the sink and multiply it by 1,000.
Q: Do all trans people get surgery?
A: Nope! Some are comfortable enough in their body to simply wear clothes that fit with their gender, and the like. There isn't just one top or bottom surgery either. I personally would feel more comfortable with top surgery, but I don't really consider my bottom part to be inherently masculine, so I won't get surgery for it. I also take hormone blockers to prevent me from having male puberty, and estrogen to have the female puberty instead (called HRT, Hormone Replacement Therapy.).
Q: Are Futanari, Yaoi/Yuri and Trap problematic terms?
A: Yes, no, no, yes. Futanari refers to porn fetishizing feminine bodies with biologically male genitalia, which often ends up feeding trans fetishes, which are gross and not okay. Yaoi/yuri refers to manga/anime that depicts gay relationships between men or women respectively. As long as this isn't being fetishized, that's fine. Trap is incredibly problematic, as it is a term used by transphobic men to refer to trans women, as they "lure them in by being attractive before revealing they have a penis, making them gay". Keep in mind that the people who came up with this term kill people over this happening.
Q: Can I simp for your character?
A: If you're a woman, yes. Otherwise, no. She's a lesbian, just like I am, and that would be gross.
Q: Are you Christian?
A: No, but I will respect people of any religion so long as they respect me and others, and don't try to force it on anyone. I consider myself a "casual Pagan", as I believe in the various pantheons (Greek, Norse, Egyptian, etc.), and acknowledge those deities existence, but I don't go praying to them. They know they're great, they're deities. They don't need their ego stroked by random humans. However, I'm not going to go asking them for favors and shit either. They have enough bullshit to deal with, they don't need mortals asking them for favors.
